“The Wornout Wailer” is all set to Release the Title Track of his Debut album”JUST FOR PEACE” written two decades ago, on This World Peace Day.

September 21, 2024 – India – Written and composed two decades back, The Wornout Wailer is all set to release the title track of his debut album JUST FOR PEACE on September 21, 2024, The World Peace Day. Sunil Sandeep Venugopalan, known by his pen name “The Wornout Wailer”, wrote this song 20 years back, as a heartfelt plea for global and personal peace.

The long-awaited track, at least for the wailer himself; JUST FOR PEACE carries a deep sense of contemplation and reflection on the global and individual state of conflict, and serves as a beacon of hope in these terribly troubled times, the human race has ever been in. Written at a time when the world’s condition was not as bad as it is now, the song resonates even more powerfully today.

“In many ways, this song has been with me for half my life. I wrote it two decades back, without knowing what the world would become. but as time ticked along and reached the moment we are in now, it became very clear, that the messages embedded in these songs were needed now more than ever before, and I felt a deep sense of responsibility to share them with the world” says the wailer.

JUST FOR PEACE marks the beginning of the Wailer’s musical journey, not only as his first song but also as the foundation for his debut album, which explores themes of decay of the socio-psychic condition of the human race, juxtaposed with the eternal, but overlooked truths of healing, spiritual wisdom, and the pursuit of peace and tranquility. His minimalist, poetic, yet deep and contemplative approach to songwriting, paired with soulful melodies, the Wailer; keeping peace as the touchstone, invites the entire humanity to pause for a moment at least, and listen to what their heart has to say, and collectively move from darkness to light.

The wailer has a rich sense of audio-visual aesthetics which shows in his work. He plays the sarod, Indian bamboo flute and the theremin. When coupled with the deep and transcendental experiences of auric soul massage created by playing the tibetan singing bowls, which he has mastered over the years, the unique and wide array of the wailer’s sonic repertoire has the ability to take one into different realms of awe and wonder. But more than that, The wailer feels experiencing the simplicity of the mundane in its most barest form helps one to live in alignment with the dao, which is the eternal truth, rather than getting lost in the repetitive loops of samsara.

The debut single JUST FOR PEACE will be available on all major streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, and Deezer, starting September 21, 2024. For more information about The Wornout Wailer and his upcoming releases, visit www.thewornoutwailer.com.
